Z is our only child who, at the ripe old age of 2, likes sauce on his spaghetti. All the other children would only eat the noodles plain...though E and MG have now graduated to sauce. I am rather glad now that my older three refrained from partaking the sauce on their spaghetti at this early age:

Car!!! Car!!! Car!!!
Besides the words "Momma" and "No!", Z's other much used word is "CAR!!" When we drive anywhere he points to every one he sees and shouts, "CAR!! CAR!!!! CAR!!!!" (sounds more like CAH, CAH, CAH). This really irritates D-D because he sometimes points to her side of the van and she thinks he is calling her a car!
Since he enjoys looking at cars, he also REALLY loves playing with them. I get a kick out of all the ways he plays with his cars. Here is one variation of what I find when I check in on him in his "mechanic shop":

After The Rain
I should have just gotten a movie, but all these pictures are fun to see one after the other. MG and Z were playing in our neighbor's driveway, putting good use to the captured rain.

Z is Two.
Baby Z...who I am sure will be my baby when he is 60 and I am---old---...turned TWO on the 12th. Since we finished all of E's cake just the night before, we decided not to make another cake. We just had a small family birthday party with a few little gifts. Z also received some balloons attached to a soft plush dog from one set of grandparents and a card with some money from another. The money has gone into his college fund (I think he has now saved up $15!!). :o)

First Day of School
2009-2010 School year has now begun. D-D is going to a half day Mother's Day Out/pre-school two days a week. Her first day was Monday. She woke up right after 6 am, she was so excited!

MG and E had their first day of school the following day: Tuesday, August 11. They were not as excited as D-D, but still glad to see their friends.

E's Birthday Day
E's Golden Birthday: he turned 7 on August 7th. We had a small party and enjoyed the ease and simplicity of it. E also told me how he wanted his cake this year. It is very similar to one I made for him when he was two or three.
E is getting kisses from his sister while he waits for his gifts. D was in charge of wrapping, so he "wrapped" E instead and had E guess what his presents were. This tickled the 7 yo boy---and his siblings!!

Trying out one of the presents from his family. I love MG's determined facial expression!

Z was our ball catcher...and our ball runner away-er! E opening a present from our neighbor.
