We went and got many much needed items from WalMart the other day---as well as some items we didn't need at all. One of those wanted-but-not-needed-items was a bag of frosted and sprinkled animal cookies. D-D loves these...she especially likes eating off all of the sprinkles before devouring the cookie. I allowed her a few of the cookies on the way home to keep the hungries down until lunch time. She looks at her cookies, then looks over at Z and says, "No, no Z...ewe can' tave iny cookees...ewe don' tave iny teef. Ewe jus' have shlawbber!! Saw-weee."(interpretation: you can't have any cookies. You don't have any teeth. You just have slobber!! Sorry!")

E is having a very difficult time keeping his thumb out of his mouth. It seems to be getting worse rather than better. Though we are trying to not call too much attention to this habit, there are times where someone in the family (his sisters included) will remind him to get his thumb out of his mouth. I did not realize how much M-G has been concerned until she said her prayer tonight on the way home from mid-week Bible study.

"Dear God," she began. "Thank you for God, Jesus, mommy, daddy, me, E, D-D and Z. Thank you for loving us and for living for our lives. Thank you for my friends and my teachers. Thank you for the good day we have had. Please, please, please help E stop sucking his thumb so that when he gets married his wife won't have to tell him to get his thumb out of his mouth..."

At that point I stopped listening because I was trying hard not to laugh out loud.

E has been working on his reaction to his sisters. He tends to lash out at them with his voice and yells at them, sometimes screaming. There are times when he really has a good reason for yelling, but we are wanting him to deal with situations in a better way.

The other day, D-D hit E for some unknown reason. He began yelling and screaming at her---essentially losing control of his reaction to her. D-D got a spanking and apologized, E got sent to time-out for a few minutes. When his cool-down time was over, and I had explained to him why he had to sit by himself for a while, we discussed that he needed to apologize to D-D. I guess I did not make it clear that he needed to apologize for yelling at her because he said, "I'm sorry, D-D. I'm sorry that you hit me."

"Mom?" E asked me just this morning (March 13), "Is there really a state called Many Apples, Many Sodas? M-G said there was. Is she right?"

"Well, there is a city called Minneapolis in a state named Minnesota. I bet MG was telling you about that place."
